Crown Castle

Our Challenge: Crown Castle is the nation’s largest provider of telecommunications infrastructure, supplying cell towers, fiber, and small cells that large carriers across the country use to provide 5G to customers. The company established an office in San Diego in order to have a larger presence in the city. Although Crown Castle had been installing infrastructure throughout San Diego for a number of years, there was a lack of both government and public engagement that culminated in a poor relationship between the city and Crown Castle.
Our Approach: JCI developed strong relationships between the San Diego Crown Castle team and key government officials. JCI also secured memberships and
name recognition with key organizations such as San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, Circulate SD, and East County Chamber of Commerce.

Our Results: Crown Castle was asked to consult with Mayor Todd Gloria’s new 5G task force, leading to a significant decrease in backlog of permits with the city
and county. JCI help Crown Castle land two successful Connected by Good partnerships with Computers2Kids San Diego and RISE San Diego.
