Ava Sanchez
Account Coordinator
Ava Sanchez is a Whittier, California native. She has experience in political communications, legislative research, and grassroots organizing. At JCI, she supports coalition building, communications, research, and grant management on various accounts.
Prior to joining JCI, Ava completed the Coro Fellowship in Public Affairs, a nine-month intensive leadership development program. Along with her cohort, Ava explored cross-sector collaboration in Los Angeles through job placements, group research projects exploring key issues in public affairs, and leadership journey interviews with influential cross-sector leaders. Ava further developed her passion for community engagement and coalition building after observing their importance across sectors in Coro.
Looking more broadly, Ava is deeply passionate about supporting statewide sustainability efforts, improving college access for low income and minority communities, and finding dignified, informed solutions to the housing crisis. At JCI, she is excited to further explore the intersection of community engagement and policy advancement.
Ava graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics and a minor certificate in Law and Social Justice. In her spare time, she loves live music, writing, a good cup of tea, and sharing a great meal with loved ones.
