T-MOBILE

Our Client: T-Mobile US Inc (T-Mobile), a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom AG, is a provider of telecommunications services. The company offers wireless telecom services, and host other services, including voice, text messaging, video calling, and data communications.

Our Challenge: JCI was brought in to engage the local communities in the San Francisco Bay area to push for greater implementation of 5G infrastructure throughout the city and county. With fierce competition, being able to deliver the fastest most reliable service to a broad spectrum of the community was essential. The team was tasked with reaching out to influential communities and leadership to push the county, the City of San Francisco, and surrounding communities to expedite the permitting and approval processes for new infrastructure. In a city known for its extremely active communities and neighbors, there had to be a direct connection and reason for influencers to take on the City leadership.

Our Approach: Our approach was simple: reach influential communities particularly the Asian and faith communities and push them to make this an equity and safety issue, and push for faster and more complete entitlement reform and get leadership to support staff. So, we built a campaign around the importance of 5G to emergency services, and to the ability of all communities to have access to digital communications.

Our Results: JCI improved the processing of permits by 85%, were able to get articles in key local publications and dozens of letters and direct contacts with City leadership. We also built a strong relationship with the influential Asian business community.
