Diego Zarate Acosta
Associate
As an Associate at JCI Worldwide, Diego Zarate Acosta supported accounts through research, outreach, and strategic communications. He brings experience engaging diverse communities, tracking public-policy developments, and translating complex information into clear, actionable insights.
Diego has a background in political outreach and international trade research. As a Political Campaign Intern for Adrin Nazarian’s Los Angeles City Council campaign, he helped engage Spanish-speaking constituents in Los Angeles’s Second District, built respectful dialogue with community members across political perspectives, and collaborated on campaign events. His work strengthened his understanding of constituent outreach, grassroots engagement, and the importance of culturally responsive communication in local politics. He also served as a Research Assistant for Professor Pamela Starr, where he monitored developments related to the USMCA renewal, tracked trade-policy shifts and negotiations, and produced concise summaries of expert analysis, policy reports, and news coverage.
At USC, Diego previously served as Director of Internal Outreach for the Undocumented Student Success Assembly. In that role, he worked with student leaders, faculty, campus administrators, and Undergraduate Student Government to advance equitable resources and institutional practices for undocumented and mixed-status students. He has also contributed to global humanitarian fundraising and member engagement through Delta Phi Epsilon, USC’s Foreign Service Society.
Diego is pursuing a B.A. in International Relations and Global Business at the University of Southern California, with minors in Risk Management and Political Science. Outside of JCI, he is interested in Latin American Development, Soccer, and International Politics
