Senior Account Executive
With a background in arts and activism, Yesenia specializes in community engagement and communications. Her roles at JCI range from nonprofit grant management to media relations, public opinion research, and grassroots campaign-building.
Yesenia also brings several years of editorial and writing experience, having been published in outlets ranging from Autostraddle to The Diplomat. She specializes in socio-cultural intersectionalities, from musical exchanges to translated literature.
Prior to JCI, Yesenia worked in public affairs for the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (Metrolink), where she was part of the community relations team covering Metrolink’s fifty-two station cities. She has also worked as a teacher with the Institute for Educational Advancement, an editorial assistant at the Center for Public Diplomacy, and a psycho-social services counselor at the Cape Town Refugee Center. Yesenia holds an MA in Public Diplomacy from the University of Southern California, as well as a BA in Political Science and a BA in French from Centenary College of Louisiana.
