Mariana is currently a first-year student at the University of Southern California’s Price School for Public Policy, where she is pursuing a masters degree. She brings invaluable skills in political communications as well as a strong background in policy, community service, and Latinx issues to JCI.
Prior to her move to California, Mariana was the Office Manager and Policy Assistant for the office of Portland Commissioner Nick Fish, where she also previously held the role of Assistant for Policy and Community Affairs. Her other work includes a two-year term as an intern at the Center for Women’s Leadership in Portland, a legal assistant at the Gonzales Immigration Law Firm, and a communications internship at Oregon Latino Agenda for Action (OLAA).
Mariana graduated in 2017 with a BA in Political Science from Portland State University, where she also served as a McNair Scholar, Director of Las Mujeres PSU, and a participant in NEW Leadership Oregon.
