Raytheon
JCI acted as strategic counsel and agency of record for the Space and Airborne
Systems. Our communications strategy
assisted the marketing communications division with a variety of media
relations, event and marketing services. Highlights of these activities include:
- F-22 Raptor Community
Event— JCI brought Raytheon’s F-22 Raptor program into the media spotlight
through an event that attracted politicians, industry leaders and members of the
print and broadcast media. Major media placements included; ABC and NBC TV local
affiliates, all local newspapers including a front page story in the
Daily Breeze. Through strategic
messaging, tactical media outreach and an engaging F-22 display, the event
highlighted the program’s innovative technology while emphasizing the positive
impact the program has on the community.
- Math and Science
Educational Initiatives – JCI promoted the message about the “engineering
gap” in the U.S. school system due to lack of participation in math and science.
JCI engaged numerous national and local broadcast media outlets to cover the
issue, utilizing popular extreme sports stars and local leaders with the lure of
the video gaming business to emphasize unique careers in technology. The company’s program “MathMovesU” was
designed to encourage young people to take an interest in math and science. The
program was central in positioning Raytheon as a leader in creating a new
generation of engineers and technology visionaries.
- SPACE 2005 – JCI
created a platform for Raytheon’s launch of a new lunar “penguin” spacecraft.
JCI captured the imagination of the news media through a successful local and
regional media marketing campaign. Outreach to local press and national news
services built momentum for the company, demonstrating Raytheon’s leadership in
cutting edge space technology. We were able to get significant media placements
on local broadcast television as well as a national story and photo with caption
on Reuters News Service.
- Launch of Gestural
Technology – JCI positioned Raytheon as a visionary leader in new
information management technologies with media exclusives in the front page of
the Wall Street Journal and CNN. The
futuristic technology, highlighted in the hit movie
Minority Report, is being used by public agencies and the U.S. Government to modernize
the management of information.
