Fresh Faces, New
Spaces
Spring fever makes us lust after the new, and Rebecca
Bloom sets her sights on things artistic – fresh, mind-expanding, at times inscrutable,
but always inspiring.

Wandering about the
Gallery at Hermès, I cast an appraising eye over
“Still Moving: The Film and Media Collections of the Museum of Modern Art,”
a multimedia presentation of selected images from the book of the same title.
Guests included Henry Duarte,
Jim Deutsch,
Merle Ginsberg, Russell
Ferguson, Karen Marta,
Edgar Arceneaux,
Glenn Kaino,
Corey Calter,
Kevin West, and
Jenny Chase Bernstein. Looking around, all I could think was how
chic this fashion house truly is. Sure, Kelly and Birkin
are names that firmly reside in my fashion lexicon, but I never appreciated the
craftsmanship and classicism behind those fab orange and brown wrappings. In a culture with the
attention span of a toddler high on sugar, Hermès has
remained true to its vision and, in celebrating film’s forefathers,
embraces the future….
