WB plays early pranks
‘Gagsters! Gotchas’ introduces new show to auds
By DENISE MARTIN
To
build up the buzz for its first live-action show in three years, Kids’ WB will
tease the upcoming kiddie prank skein “Gagsters”
through a series of interstitials set to premiere two days before the show’s
launch.
Beginning
Thursday – April Fools Day – Kids’ WB will air the short-form segs “Gagsters! Gotchas!.” Vignettes will highlight gags from the show to air
throughout the net’s morning block.
“This
is a new format for Kids’ WB and the live action interstitial segements are a great way to introduce the ‘Gagsters’
characters to our audience,” said senior VP of programming John Hardman.
Hidden-camera
series “Gagsters,” announced last month during the net’s upfront presentation,
follows a team of young pranksters as they fool unsuspecting adults in a
variety of good-natured gags (Daily
Variety, Feb. 26).
The
channel’s last live-action entry was 2001’s “The Nightmare Room” based on the
R.L. Stine book series. Show ran for a year.
“Gagsters”
is produced by Gotcha Entertainment and will make its
full-length premier Saturday.
