JCI’sprovided strategic counsel to Charter Communications and Paul Allen’s Vulcan Inc. to implement a highly sensitive corporate communications/crisis communication program revolving around one of the nation’s largest legal malpractice and fraud lawsuits. The campaign strategy focused on judicious and focused press relations, top-tier media outreach, media training of Charter executives, and outreach to legal publications characterized. The success of JCI’s efforts in this crisis situation is evidenced by advantageous coverage of Charter’s role in the lawsuit by major publications such as the Wall Street Journal, American Lawyer, and the L.A. Times. The key was to manage the messaging on the suit while not jeopardizing the legal strategy. We were successful on all counts.
